Below are some common frequently asked questions.
1. We have found that servicing the equipment quarterly is the best option. This insures your equipment is maintained year-round and reduces break downs due to build up of debris inside the hydraulic compartment most effectively. Most manufacture warranties require at least a bi-annual cleaning to keep your warranty active. The hydraulic oil filtration and pressure setting is preformed on an annual basis.
2. NO the compactor DOES NOT need to be empty for the service to be performed. Our trucks are capable of pulling a completely full compactor out performing the service and pushing the compactor back into place. Also our trucks have vacuum systems so that we can remove all liquid from self-contained compactors and then return the liquid to the compactor after the service/repairs have been completed. In some cases the compactor will have to be emptied for example if we are going to clean or repair the trash compartment (were the trash is compacted) the compactor will need to be empty for us to perform this service.
3. Our service keeps your equipment in top working order, it is preventative maintenance on your compactor/baler. Our cleaning includes the removal of debris that has accumulated inside the compactors hydraulic compartment. If left uncleaned that debris can eventually cause harm to the hydraulic hoses, hydraulic fittings, hydraulic cylinders as well as other mechanical components inside the hydraulic compartment. While we are on location we grease all of the fittings and visually inspect every aspect of your equipment and fix any problem we may find before it becomes a bigger issue.
4. Saving your company money goes hand in hand with our services. A clean compactor area is a more customer friendly. While we are there cleaning the compactor we will also do all possible repairs. Most parts are stocked on our trucks so if we find an issue that needs repaired we can fix the issue immediately. This eliminates the travel fees, down time, roll-off rental, and headache associated with compactor break downs.
5. A Sonozaire Odor Neutralizer is an effective odor control machine manufactured by CBI/Howe Baker. It is mounted on the wall (normally outside next to the compactor) and plugs into a 110GFCI outlet. It takes the electricity and combines it with oxygen and creates ozone. It then blows the ozone through 2 inch hose running from the machine to the compactor chute or trash compartment. The ozone creates a barrier of air between the trash and the outside air and kills the airborne odor causing bacteria.
